A new version of firmware has been released for the PlayStation 3 which will give console owners a better gaming experience.
Firmware 3.00 has included a number of cosmetic changes which improves navigation around the user interface of the system.
Network improvements have also improved stability while there are now more personalisation options available for gamers.
A ‘What’s New’ icon will update with the latest PlayStation gaming, video and network news, while a status indicator has also been included which shows the number of friends that a user currently has online and whether they have any messages waiting for them.
Shortcuts have been added to the PlayStation Store which means that content can be accessed with the click of a button.
Those wanting to show off trophies and achievements which have been earned while gaming, will get enhanced features which will be implemented in many upcoming games.
The firmware update can be installed through the PlayStation 3 or by downloading it on a PC on to a memory stick. It will also be included with all the latest games.
