Apple’s iPhone 3GS and the brand new Palm Pre have tied in an online comparison between the two powerful smartphones.
Technology experts at ITPro.co.uk put the two devices through their paces, with the iPhone drawing huge praise for its App Store, which “runs rings” around the Palm, thanks to downloads such as TomTom satellite navigation and Facebook facilities.
The iPhone also came out on top in the looks category, with the website stating that Apple is “synonymous with attractive products”.
Comparing the vital statistics of the two handsets also ended in a tie, with the iPhone drawing praise for its larger screen. The cameras on the two devices are also very similar, while the Pre’s battery is not quite as strong as the Apple product.
The depth of features on both devices was also a closely fought battle, with video, Wi-Fi and Google Maps all coming up trumps.
However, the Pre did get a gold star for its superior call quality, while both handsets were noted to suffer from slight heat issues when charging and under hard usage.
