2010 will be an ‘incredible year’ for console game fans

Some blockbuster games will be released in the first six months of 2010, according to an industry expert.

Jamie Sefton, sector manager of Game Republic, said that many companies have delayed the release of some of their titles until next year, meaning that, in the next quarter, some “amazing” games will be hitting the shelves.

“I really think it is going to be an incredible time for gamers. What is most exciting is that you have the PlayStation motion controllers coming out and then Project Natal from Microsoft for the Xbox – which is happening towards the end of next year,” he added.

Mr Sefton said that some titles to look out for in 2010 include Mass Effect 2, BioShock 2, God of War III and Super Mario Galaxy 2.

According to research by Experian Hitwise, UK internet searches for video games increased by 28 per cent immediately after the release of the much-hyped Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 in November.ADNFCR-2524-ID-19536055-ADNFCR
