Opera Mini hoping to bring faster browsing to iPhone

iPhone users could soon be benefitting from a faster internet browser if it is given the go-ahead by Apple.

Opera Mini will be shown running on the device at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later this month and it could become a competitor to the pre-installed Safari browser.

Jon von Tetzchner, co-founder for Opera Software, said that he is thrilled to offer journalists and partners an exclusive preview of how the program will work on the iPhone.

"This is a unique opportunity to introduce the fast, feature-rich Opera Mini experience for the iPhone and to showcase our latest beta releases of Opera Mobile and Opera Mini on other platforms and devices," he added.

Opera Mobile 10 beta 2 is currently available for Nokia Smartphone users, giving people the opportunity to use speed dial and tabbed browsing. ADNFCR-2524-ID-19608360-ADNFCR
