Photography ‘can help fulfil promised resolutions’

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

Taking up photography as a hobby can help people to fulfil promised resolutions, according to an expert.

Amber Flowers, a digital artist and writer, told The Amplifier that many people made resolutions to lose weight, make money and find success in the new year, stating that learning photography can help them achieve all of these goals.

Photography can inspire you to get you and your family outside searching for beautiful locations to take pictures. This ‘exercise’ will help people with weight loss resolutions and your family will grow closer by doing something you can all do together,” she told the source.

She added that photography can help people make money and find success, as they will be able to sell unique images as stock, prints and other products.

Ms Flowers said that people can even set up an online gallery, join local photography clubs and other online communities where they will meet like-minded people.

Raj Shukla, writing for SiliconIndia, recently advised photography beginners that they should invest in effective and trusted image recovery software in case of accidental deletion or file corruption.ADNFCR-2524-ID-19610870-ADNFCR

Assassin’s Creed II given ‘great’ award by IGN

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

One of the most respected gaming websites in the world has said that the latest Assassin’s Creed release is worthy of greatness.

David Clayman, reviewing Assassin’s Creed II for IGN.com, said that it is a sequel which triumphs over the original in every possible way.

“The plot of Assassin’s Creed pulls together a bit of The Matrix, a lot of historical fiction and throws in elements of the madcap conspiracy theories found in a Dan Brown novel,” he said.

Mr Clayman added that thanks to a number of tweaks which have been made between the release of the two games, it has been transformed from a “middling action game into an intriguing and consistently entertaining” open-world adventure.

In his review, presentation and sound come in for the biggest praise, with the expert stating that the music sets the tone and helps to evoke emotion throughout.

Assassin’s Creed II is currently available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC and Nintendo DS.ADNFCR-2524-ID-19610867-ADNFCR

iPad ‘represents future of computing’

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

Apple’s latest product represents the future of computing, according to one industry expert.

Jeremy Horwitz, editor-in-chief of iLounge, said that although certain improvements are needed, the iPad will be able to do big things in the future.

"There are two camps of people right now. Half see the iPad as possessing tremendous potential and a nice feature set, and others compare it in price and features to PC netbooks," he said.

The expert added that the iPad’s strengths are as a media player, book reader and creative tool for design and production work.

He advised Apple that these strengths need demonstrating to the public, while software should also be designed which better exploits them.

Mr Horwitz said that in the future, he would like to see a fold-out rear stand, video camera for chat and more capacity included in the device.

The iPad is set to release in the UK next month, with the Wi-Fi-only version becoming available. A 3G-capable product will then be released later in the year, with April being touted by some websites.ADNFCR-2524-ID-19610865-ADNFCR

Other useful wireless applications which can be used on the iPod Touch to control functions on a PC include Remote.

This lets users play, pause, skip and shuffle the songs which are playing through their iTunes program, making it an ideal application for using at a party or when the music source is in a different room.ADNFCR-2524-ID-19605424-ADNFCR
