More than 700 apps ready for iPad launch

The iPad will have over 700 apps available for the device when it launches, it has been reported, and developers have been hard at work to create them in time.

Apps such as Twitterific, a Twitter client for the iPad; and the game Flight Control will be ready to go when the iPad is launched in the US later this week, ahead of the device’s European launch, the Daily Telegraph has reported.

Media organisations such as the New York Times are also anticipated to make an iPad app available on launch day.

Flurry Analytics recently said that almost half (44 per cent) of the apps being tested on the iPad are games.

It claimed that 14 per cent were entertainment apps, while social networking takes seven per cent.

The new Apple iPad, which will cost from $499 (£330), will be made available on Saturday April 3rd in various stores across the US.ADNFCR-2524-ID-19703083-ADNFCR
