MadBid Auction Winner – Interview with Alexis

posted by Evelina

With so many bargain auctions on the website, we thought it would be a great idea to hear from a MadBid auction winner.  Once you get the hang of how the auctions work, it’s only a matter of time before you can enjoy brand new products at up 80% discounts. We ask Alexis what his bidding strategy is and a few more general questions that might help new madbid customers when looking to join the website.

If you have any more questions that you would like us to put across, feel free to send them in.

MadBid: How did you hear about MadBid.com?
Alexis: I got and email from a friend, telling me about it. At first it looked like just a game that you play to pass the time so I didn’t pay too much attention, but then after a while I thought I would give it a proper go.

MadBid: Did you understand how MadBid worked from the start?
Alexis: I didn’t get the gist of MadBid at once; however, after reading the “How It Works” section, I understood how it worked roughly. I think you just need to bid in a few auctions to really understand it fully in action.

MadBid: What was the first product that you bid for? Why did you go for that one?
Alexis: If I remember correctly, my first bid was for the iPod Nano. After that I went for the “50 Free Bids”, in order to get some extra “firepower”. That was actually the first item that I won. Then with the auction account “full” with credits I attacked the iPod Nano. My strategy paid off and I won it after an epic battle. That was in fact the first tangible product that I won. I think the auction set up is really thrilling which is great if you are visiting the website as a simple destination for online shopping.

MadBid: So we now have a slight understanding of your bidding strategy. What additional advice would you give to a new person joining MadBid?
Alexis: Be patient and focus your credits  on one product. But having said that, I realise that I have lost some bargains by waiting too long to start bidding and if you think the auction has gone quiet, turn your autobid on so you don’t miss it. I think I am quite a lucky madbid auction winner because I tend to notice when the auction is running quiet so I can place the winning bid, which I suggest anyone new to do.

MadBid: What products would you like to see on MadBid in the future?
Alexis: A Brompton [foldable bicycle] would be fun! Also some gadgets for the home like speakers and TV’s are always useful.

Thank you Alexis for taking the time to answer our questions, and we hope your bargain wins don’t stop any time soon! If you are wondering how you can get your hands on brand new products for an average discount of 80%, it’s quite simple, buy a credits package, choose your auction, place your bids and if you are the last person to bid before the timer runs out, you win!
