Mark Zuckerberg sues Mark Zuckerberg

American bankruptcy attorney Mark Zuckerberg has filed a lawsuit against his namesake, Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

According to the attorney, his Facebook account was suspended five times over the past eight years, each time for allegedly “impersonating a public figure.” These repeated suspensions, he claims, cost him thousands of dollars in lost business opportunities.

Zuckerberg provided evidence of his correspondence with Facebook dating back to 2017, where he was accused of using a false identity. In an effort to prove his legitimacy, he submitted copies of his ID, credit cards, and photos.

The lawyer even launched a website, iammarkzuckerberg, where he documents how sharing the same name with one of the most famous tech executives has affected his life. “I can’t use my name when booking or handling business — people hang up, thinking it’s a prank,” he writes.

Beyond business issues, he regularly receives calls and messages intended for the Meta founder, including money requests and even death threats.

When his account was suspended again in May 2025, attorney Zuckerberg filed a lawsuit against Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg. Shortly afterward, Facebook reinstated his profile, admitting it had been mistakenly blocked. The company stated that it is working on fixing the issue.
