Spotify Hits Instagram: Now You Can Hear Tracks in Stories Without Leaving the App

Instagram and Spotify have finally delivered a feature users have long awaited: sharing songs in Instagram Stories with audio playback. Previously, adding a song from Spotify to a Story only showed a static image with the track title and a "Play" button. Now that changes.

Instagram has officially confirmed that when sharing a song from Spotify, a 15-second audio clip will automatically play in Stories. This means your followers can hear a part of the track directly in the app — no need to switch.

Previously, users had to improvise by manually adding music or recording the screen. This seamless integration now gives Spotify an edge over competitors like YouTube Music, whose shared songs often remain silent even in 2025.

Instagram also introduced new fonts for Stories and Reels, including a handwritten style by singer Rosalía. By using it, you unlock special characters she drew herself — just enter certain words or combinations.

On the podcast front, Spotify recently changed how it displays episode stats. While it initially showed exact play counts for all podcasts, backlash from independent creators led to a revision: now, numbers appear only after a show reaches 50,000 plays, and are rounded (e.g., 50K or 100K).

These updates make Instagram more engaging and Spotify more listener-friendly, reflecting how digital platforms evolve to match the needs of users and creators alike.
