TikTok Now Lets Songwriters Feature Their Tracks on Profiles
TikTok is expanding its support for music creators. Songwriters and producers can now highlight the tracks they’ve written or co-written directly in their profile under a new “Music” tab. This works similarly to how it functions for performing artists.
Additionally, those who register as songwriters will receive a special badge under their name, signaling their official status.
Music has always been central to TikTok’s identity. The platform helps songs go viral and offers musicians massive exposure. TikTok collaborates with global stars like Taylor Swift, creating dedicated spaces for their releases. The platform has also added integrations with SoundCloud and briefly launched its own streaming service, TikTok Music, which was discontinued in 2024.
These new tools enhance existing features, such as the “New” tag for recent songs and direct links to save tracks on streaming services. In 2023, TikTok launched the BehindTheSong hub and the Off the Record interview series with artists like Shakira, Charli XCX, and Meghan Trainor.
Currently, these new features are available to a limited number of partners. Songwriters and rights holders can join the waitlist for future access.
